About the Photogaphs
We provide only the
highest quality photographic prints available. To accomplish this we produce only genuine
photographic prints on the highest quality materials. These prints are not inkjet or laser
prints but real photographs on real professional quality photo paper. Most people don't
realize that there is actually different quality of photographic papers. Professional quality
photo paper differs from what you would normally get from your drug store or one hour lab,
it provides superior contrast, longevity and color saturation. All of the prints are
individually
Color Balanced. This allows each image to be the best color it can be.
Cropped for the Subject. If the subject of the shot isn't very
large in the proof, don't worry it will be enlarged to become the
most important part of the shot. Please see

Burned and Dodged. Burning and dodging are photographic
terms that refer to selectively making areas of the print lighter
or darker as needed to make the print as rich in appearance
as possible.
In short these are the same type prints you would receive if you sent your negatives
to a good commercial/professional photo lab for prints.

About the Frames
Eventphotographs.com
offers a service to have the images you select professionally framed. Our frames are the
same type and quality you would expect if you took your pictures to the custom frame shop
in your town. We offer five styles of frames, metal frames, in Black, Silver, and Gold.
Our metal frames are deeper and thicker than average frames to give the work a more substantial
look. Wood frames in a Light Wood (beach), and Dark Wood (Cherry) finishes. The photographs are
custom matted with a bevel cut matte of acid free museum board (slightly off white). Please
read the section on
Why is an 8x10 is not always an 8x10
, this section will explain why you may need a custom matte and why the print may not fit in a standard frame. The photograph is
covered with 1/16th inch thick clear acrylic (1/8th acrylic on sizes over 16x20 inches).
All frames come complete with hanging hardware, and are ready to take out of the box and
hang directly on your wall. The look of our framed prints is designed to elevate your images
to the status of fine art. You can be proud of these images not only for the content but
also as an enhancement to your decor.

Why is an 8x10 not always an 8x10?
The proportions of a 35mm
frame of film are different than that of most common print sizes, in much the same way you
might see a letter box version of a film on your television. As opposed to what is often
listed as formatted to fit your screen, what this means is that the edges of the frame are
cropped off to fill the television screen. The same thing happens with the printing of a
photograph. On occasion the image shot by the photographer does not allow for some of the
long dimension of the image to be reduced so the width can be expanded to fit an 8x10 inch
(or other size) format, without damaging the content of the image. What you end up with is a
smaller image on the paper, but one that contains all of the information on the original
film. This creates a non-standard size image as a result it will not fit in a standard size
frame without a custom matte.
